Re-Engineering Wound Healing

Dr. Dan Holsworth is CEO and founder of Eluciderm Inc., a drug discovery company focused on wound healing and regenerative medicine. He is an entrepreneur, medicinal chemist and expert in the field of drug discovery with over 30 years of experience, including multiple stints in senior level research and director positions in the Biotech and Pharma industries, most notably Amylin Pharmaceuticals and Pfizer Global Research & Development. His research projects over the years have focused on a variety of therapeutic areas ranging from oncology, cardiovascular, metabolic, and inflammation, to more recent efforts in the fields of dermatology, and wound healing. His work has culminated in over half a dozen clinical candidates, and he is the inventor on 26 patents and author of over 100 publications, book chapters, and presentations. Dr. Holsworth earned his doctorate in synthetic organic chemistry from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, and was a Post-Doctoral Fellow in Medicinal Chemistry at Parke-Davis Pharmaceuticals in Ann Arbor, Michigan. 

Fun Fact: Dan was a competitive bodybuilder on the Michigan/Ohio regional circuit in the mid-80’s. These days he’s more likely to be found fronting the rock band “Do Not Resuscitate” as lead guitarist, a group once described by a friend as playing with half the talent but twice the volume of a normal band.
