August 11 - Rotary Meeting/A's Game

Thursday was an early start, joining the Rotarians at Santa Rosa Sunrise’s 7:30 meeting, where our team was the honored guests and program for the day. The meeting was started by Acting President Eloise Tweeten, greeting our team, host families and members of SRKSEP 2015. Also in attendance were some of the host families, Lorenzens, Childs, Eakins, and Haydons. Chaperone Naoya Sumiyoshi shared a special presentation to the club, and introduced each of the travelers, who then shared information about themselves and some of their experiences here in Santa Rosa. All of the Rotarians present commented on the excellent English skills of the entire SRKSEP team.

Following the Rotary meeting, traveling with drivers Steve Amend, Peter Hoberg, Tom Eakin, and Don Floriani, it was off to the Oakland Coliseum to attend America’s Favorite Past Time – Baseball between the Oakland A’s and Baltimore Orioles! Joining our team were SRKSEP 2015 members Adriana Harrington, Berklee Welsh, Christian Pounden, Bridget and Cassidy Childs, Morgan Lynch and James and John Eakin.

It was a beautiful day in the East Bay, even though our Oakland A’s were defeated by Baltimore 9-6. After a long drive home in rush hour traffic, our travelers were returned to their host families.
