Sunrisers, as previewed this morning, please save Thursday, February 2 from 5:30-7:00 to attend a Social/Alternative Energy gathering at Sonoma Clean Power’s Advanced Energy Center, located at 741 Fourth Street in Santa Rosa. As you probably know, Sonoma Clean Power supplies about 80% of the County’s electricity through “green” sources- solar, wind and geothermal. It also encourages homeowners to convert from gas to electricity wherever possible and the Advanced Energy Center is a demonstration center where all sorts of new technology appliances are on display- heat pump-powered hot water heaters, induction stove tops, HVAC systems, plug-in stations for your electric vehicle, and more. There is also a ton of information available on tax credits, utility rebates, low interest rate finance programs, etc.
We will enjoy a half an hour of social time with beer, wine and hors d’oeuvres before an excellent talk, tour and Q&A with one of the management executives of the Center. It promises to be an informative, interesting and most enjoyable evening and I would encourage you to make this event if at all possible.
We plan to invite other Santa Rosa area clubs as well but because space is limited at the Center to 50 people, we are asking that Sunrise Rotarians and their guests/friends RSVP between now and next Wednesday if they think they will attend, after which we will then extend the invitation to the other clubs.
