International Service Committee

Tempe South Rotary members get involved in service projects around the world.  Some members travel to needy locations to help establish service.  Often, our club will work with a foreign club to support their local service project.

 Food Distribution in Mexico

 Tempe South Rotary works with Rotary Clubs in Mexico and the US to provide food to the needy.  We have ongoing relationships with Agua Prieta and Cananea Rotary Clubs and we c ontinue building relationships with politicians in those cities, as well as in Naco.

Rancho Feliz Projects

We provide continuing support for La Divina Providencia,  Casa Hogar, and the Vencinos home building program.

San Marcos Orphanage

Tempe South Rotary obtained a matching grant of $14,500 to help the Friends of the Orphans in Nicaragua.  In conjunction with the Managua Nicaragua  Rotary Club, we have  provided irrigation equipment, welding equipment & supplies, cobbler equipment & supplies, ten sewing machines, tables and supplies, and clothes for the orphans of San Marcos Orphanage, one of several  orphanages supported by Friends of the Orphans.

Computers for Literacy, without Borders

Over 100 computers have been installed in various locations in Mexico.   TSR provides the computers, and the schools and orphanages provide the  training.

Scholarship program with Agua Prieta Rotary

TSR provides ½ of the support for scholarship for Agua Prieta students   attending the University of Mexico.  The other half of the support is provided by the Agua Prieta RC.  Students must provide quarterly reports. 

Water Project

A Tempe South Rotary Club Matching grant for $21,500 provided two wells for an orphanage built in Santa Cruz, Boliva.  W ater had been trucked in and was very costly.  The wells provide water for domestic use and irrigation.
