Each of us is able to help the world be a better place in small ways.
Together as Rotarians, we are much stronger and can make a significant difference. WE CAN AND WE WILL!
Our focus this year is the reduction of child mortality. By creating an environment where children can survive, we give them a chance to Make their Dreams Real. Rotary is accomplishing this goal through a multitude of different projects. Clean water projects prevent illness. Health clinics provide access to care. Schools educate the children to improve their lives. Meeting the Gates Foundation Polio Plus Challenge will eradicate a scourge from the earth.
To continue to meet the challenges of improving our world, Rotary must remain strong. Membership is the key to Rotary's continued success. Each new member is another pair of hands to do the work, another heart to feel compassion. But quantity of members is not a guarantee of success. Diversity of membership is equally important Diversity of age and profession within Rotary ensure that our organization will remain vibrant and maintain a broad perspective on the solution to problems.
President Lee has set a membership growth goal of 10% for this year. By meeting this goal with younger members outside the expertise of our club will help assure our success in facing the challenges of hunger, health, and literacy at home and throughout the world.
