Aaron Brown and Brenda Fox presented the mission of The ARC of Tempe.
The ARC of Tempe's goal is to provide a place and support system for the developmentally disabled in the community.

Once out of the school system, the developmentally disabled lose their support system.  The ARC gives them a place to go to interact with others in similar circumstances who are more accepting of their disabilities.  The ARC has 94 registered members of which nearly 40 are regularly active in the ARC activities.  Activities include enrichment classes, social events, exercise classes, and outings.  The ARC members are mostly adults.  Many of them are working members of the community.  While 5 or 6 live alone and some live in a group home, most live with their parents.  The ARC provides them the facility to develop the network of friends and acquaintance they need to grow.

The ARC of Tempe was founded in 1964.  It is a charitable organization funded by monetary gifts, donated used items, and a Thrift Shop.  Volunteers help keep the budget low.
