President's Message

 

Welcome to the Rotary Club of Vancouver Yaletown.

 

This year marks a year of transition for our club. We emerge from a world changing pandemic, where we must learn from what we have experienced, reassess our priorities to meet the challenges of the future, and adapted to new ways of doing business.

 

The Rotary Club of Vancouver Yaletown has emerged as a club with a new focus on the environment and sustainability. We build on a history of programs that support environmental initiatives with renewed commitment and focus. Moving forward, our programs, activities and projects will have a special focus on learning to develop better awareness and taking action through organizing and supporting programs with a focus on the environment, climate action and sustainability.

 

We have also adapted to the way we meet.  Our club recognizes the challenges of people with busy schedules and other commitments and to consider ways in which we can reduce our carbon imprint through how we act. Build on what we have learned about our ability to  engage, develop relationships and to act and plan in a virtual world, the Rotary Club of Vancouver Yaletown will have a blended meeting format where we will meet both virtually for business and for presentations to learn about areas of interest affecting the environment, and we will engage in person through regular social and action based activities.

 

Imagine Rotary, what it is now, what it can be in the future. Imagine how you can be involved in this amazing global organization and make a positive impact in their communities and the world.
