Thanks to FDU and Provost, Dr. Cecil Abrahams

The Club held its annual Meet Up social at Milestone's Restaurant in the heart of Yaletown.  We enjoyed great fellowship and refreshments and we paid tribute to our generous sponsors for their assistance this year.  We were pleased that FDU Provost, Dr. Cecil Abrahams, was able to join us.

President Linda presented Dr. Abrahams with a Club pin and advised him that the Club is in the process of completing an application to Rotary International to confer upon Dr. Abrahams a Paul Harris Fellow from the Club. Neil Mort reviewed the history of FDU and its close connection to Rotary over many years.  Neil thanked Dr. Abrahams for his support for our Club and also for the Rotaract Club of Vancouver Yaletown.  Both Clubs meet at Fairleigh Dickinson University's campus and many members are students or faculty at FDU.  Both Clubs appreciate the ongoing support from FDU and Dr. Abrahams.

Dr. Abrahams advised that the close connection between Rotary and FDU was also a benefit to FDU's students, who come from about 49 countries.  Many of the goals and programs of Rotary are similar to those of FDU, including youth support/leadership and peace/conflict resolution.  Dr. Abrahams thanked the Club for its commitment.
