Congratulations, new Paul Harris Fellows!!

The Club was very pleased to honour and welcome two new Paul Harris Fellows.

 

Dr. Cecil Abrahams is the Provost of Fairleigh Dickinson University, Vancouver campus.  Dr. Abrahams' sponsor was Neil Mort, a Club member and Director, Enrollment Services for FDU.  The Club presented Dr. Abrahams with a PHF to recognize the contributions made by Dr. Abrahams (and FDU) to doing good in the world.  We thank Dr. Abrahams for demonstrating in his life and vocation a commitment to assisting youth to develop leadership and vocational skills.  FDU has a close connection to Rotary, both historically through Col. Dickinson who was a Rotarian, and with the Vancouver Yaletown Rotary and Rotaract Clubs, which meet at the FDU campus.  Thank you Dr. Abrahams.

 

Karen McDiarmid is our President-elect for 2014-15.  Her PHF sponsor was Francois Daoust, Club member and multiple Paul Harris Fellow.  Karen is a tireless volunteer who is committed to community service, to being a Rotarian (not just a Rotary Club member), and to The Rotary Foundation and its goals of world understanding and peace.  Her infectious laugh and enthusiasm are inspiring.  Her dedication to the Club and to Rotary will ensure a successful 2014-15 year.  Thank you Karen (and Francois).
