Former New York Giant great Bart Oates addresses the Newark Rotary Club

It was a pleasure and honor to have Mr. Bart Oates provide a brief history of his career from farm to BYU student, to NFL football then to his to law career. What a fantastic chain of events that has changed his life and as a New Jersey resident still changing the life of others as head of the NFL Alumni Association, charity involvement and religion. Our best wishes to you Bart and thank you.

Former New York Giant great Bart Oates will address the Newark Rotary Club at their regular Club meeting on September 4th at the Spanish Pavillion in Harrison. The meeting will begin at 12:00. Lunch is optional at $23.00.

Oates was a member of three Super Bowl-winning teams, two with the Giants in 1987 and 1991, and one with the San Francisco 49ers in 1995. He was a five-time Pro-Bowler. He also won two USFL championships as a member of the Philadelphia/Baltimore Stars. As a New York Giant, he was a member of what Coach Bill Parcells referred to as a “lunch pail” line and played alongside luminaries like Lawrence Taylor, Phil Simms, Harry Carson, Carl Banks, and Joe Morris.

A graduate of Seton Hall Law School, Oates is an attorney who currently serves as head of the NFL Alumni Association, a non-profit organization founded in 1967 that tends to the needs of retired NFL athletes and their families.
