Hosting 2024 District 7475 Exchange Students

As part of an exchange program with Rotary Clubs in Japan, Newark Rotary was pleased to host a contingent of students and Rotarians from Japan on August 6th during the Club meeting at Spanish Pavilion. The visitors were in the District 7475 area for a three week period during which they were hosted by ten Rotarian families. The program is in its 46th year, and the Newark luncheon and visits to local spots of interest have been an annual tradition for over 25 years under the leadership of Newark Rotarian Rich Russo. In recent years the group has visited Sacred Heart Cathedral, the Newark Museum of Art, the Newark Public Library, and the Prudential Center on “Newark Day”.

As part of the Short-Term Youth Exchange, students from the District 7475 area spent three weeks in southern Japan in late June. Newark Club President Joseph Marino hosted the August 6th event, which was attended by 20 students, their team leaders, Newark Rotary members, and program organizers from District 7475 led by Madison Rotarian Jim Allison.
