Charter Night 2013

Another birthday celebration has passed, we are now in our 33rd year.
What a great turnout for the evening, everyone dressed to the nines and ready to party. We were without our illustrious leader Mr. Ken Baker, it was reported he was last seen in Arizona. Not to sure if anyone missed him.
We missed Grace Robertson as she is always the life and sole of any party. Apparently she is on a cruise ship sailing some ocean or sea. However I digress. The night was led by Tim Lounsbury who did a fine job of keeping things going. One of the highlights was the Rotary family fued. The red team won hands down with their superior knowledge of the inner workings of the club.
We had some hippy guy by the name of Steve Furguston give us his rendition of a new song he wrote for the occasion, complete with head band and guitar, ten out of ten for effort Steve, we had no other offers from the members other than Yasmin who had trouble with the sound system and her guitar amp. If there was ever a story which said no matter what, never give up Yasmin told that story.
The club also bestowed a number of Paul Harris Fellow Awards to club members and members of the community.
First we had Michael and Elizabeth Pratt who were instrumental in forming a Arboretum to the 158 Canadian soldiers who had fallen in Afghanistan since 2001.
Then we paid tribute to Linda Mross and Catherine Anderson for all the hardwork they do behind the scenes, and finaly to himself. It was a big suprise to me, because honestly, getting recognized for doing something you love is a great feeling, no matter where it comes from. So thank you all ... you are all awsome.
