Why Taiwan Matters

David Chih-Hsiang Wu, Director-General of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in San Franscisco, is the highest ranking Taiwanese official in the Bay Area. He will focus on why Taiwan matters to the world and to the United States specifically, and remind us of our longtime partnership with Taiwan.

Since 2001, Wu has held a variety of positions in Taiwan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including service in Switzerland and the Netherlands. David graduated from the National Cengchi University in 1996, and pursued advanced studies in diplomacy and law at Oxford and Tufts.
