In the Rotary Club of Los Altos’ 75th year, in partnership with various organizations, Rotarians accomplished these global impacts:
 
Ukraine
1. Funded installation of two, towable Mobile Emergency Clinics (MECs) in Ukraine’s war-torn areas and helped fund and supply 30 additional MECS, ready for deployment in Ukraine where needed.
2. Home-hosted ten Ukrainian medical personnel--battlefield medics, psychologists, neurosurgeons, and associates--who attended a week-long training program at the Palo Alto Veterans Administration Polytrauma Rehabilitation Center.
3. Ukrainian medics learned how the VA works to rehabilitate traumatized veterans and experienced respite from their own war traumas; Rotarian hosts learned from the medics about the traumas of the war Russia is conducting in Ukraine.
4. For six days, home-hosted four members of Ukraine's parliament, who met with local experts on law, governance, and democracy at Santa Clara University and Stanford University—where they met Professor Michael McFaul, former US Ambassador to Russia, and Professor Francis Fukuyama.
 
Peru
5. Since 2017, enabled families in Peru’s high altiplano villages to build greenhouses to grow fruits and vegetables for their consumption and sale to others, resulting in both food security and greater economic independence.
6. Enabled one hundred forty-six Peruvian families to provide food for 500 people.
7. Supported construction of thirty-eight additional greenhouses for thirty-eight “new” families

Iraq
8. In Bakhtma Village, Duhok, Iraq, funded a poultry-breeding program in which 350 geese, 125 turkeys, and 80 chickens helped thirty-six, displaced Yezidie families feed themselves and create businesses to sell their birds to others in their community.
9. Funded the building of two barns to support animal breeding.
10.Enabled Yezidie girls, supported by the breeding program‘s proceeds, to attend school instead of working in markets, resulting in their increased confidence and awareness of economic opportunity.
 
Indonesia:
11. In remote Sumba Island, Indonesia, supported a Clean Water and Sanitation project. Trained 380 villagers on how to deliver clean drinking water to 10,000 residents, reducing the spread of disease.
12. Supported delivery of compostable, sanitary toilets; drilled 39 boreholes and installed micro flush toilets in 262 households, reducing the spread of disease.
 
Nepal:
13.  From 2001 through 2014, funded, built, and delivered  4,500 solar-cooking ovens to families in remote villages, resulting in 300,000 hot meals cooked via solar instead of wood fires, reduced carbon emissions, reduced treks women took to collect and haul firewood, and improved health. A Nepalese NGO has continued this work.
14. Restored 16 birthing centers in 39 rural villages, delivering equipment including 4 shared ultrasound units, training birth attendants, and reducing high rates of maternal- and infant mortality for thousands of women and children.
