AAPI Youth Rising - Our Youth Voices are Rising

Mina Fedor is the Founder and Executive Director for AAPI Youth Rising, a youth- led organization who’s mission it is to take small actions to make positive change. AYR first came together as middle-schoolers by organizing a stop-AAPI hate rally in Berkeley, California that drew over 1200+attendees. AYR continues to advocate for legislative change in support of inclusive histories, speak-out about issues impacting youth, and empower students to engage in civic action. Most recently AYR developed a lesson about AAPI history that the group volunteers to teach in classrooms across America.
Mina was recently honorees as a ‘Uniter’ by President Biden at the ‘United We Stand Summit’ held in Washington DC., a bi-partisan effort to combat the rise in hate-fueled violence in America. She is also a 2022 Time Kid of the Year - Top Five Finalist and the 2022 Robert Wood Johnson Health Equity Award winner for Society for Science Broadcom MASTERS. AYR is the 2022  Partner Group for the Girl of the Year and has been featured on Good Morning America, the Today Show, NPR, TIME Magazine, Wall Street Journal, and many others. Mina is in 9th grade and attends school in Oakland, California. She loves drawing, trying new boba and learning about how the human mind works.
