Rotary honors six women for leadership and humanitarian service
Rotary President K.R. Ravindran has named six Rotary Global Women of Action for 2015. The honorees were chosen for their dedication and service, which has improved the lives of thousands around the world. “Every day at Rotary I see firsthand how our members work to change lives and make a significant impact,” said Ravindran. “Rotary’s Global Women of Action embody Rotary’s motto, Service Above Self.” The women will be honored at Rotary Day at the United Nations in New York City on 7 November. Bringing education to rural Mexican area, one school at a time
When Mariana Day moved in 1989 to the small beach town of Chacala, in Nayarit, Mexico, she noticed that the surrounding rural areas struggled to maintain schools. And most children weren’t able to go beyond an eighth-grade education. Day, who is a member of the Rotary Club of Bahía de Jaltemba-La Peñita, in Nayarit, had started a local scholarship program before she joined Rotary. Pradeep seeks deep space

Pradeep Dass gave a fascinating account of his classification, Aerospace Engineering. From some of his early inventions, which he forgot to patent, to his current brain child, a rocket engine capable of propelling (that doesn't sound right in terms of rocket engines -- does it?) a vehicle at Mach 5.

Some of our members may be able to experience flight times to Frankfurt am Main in less than an hour some time in the future. Of course you still have to check in 2 - 3 hours before departure.

Those of us born prior to the sixties will not have to worry :-)

Meals on Wheels need kitchen grunts

We have, again, an opportunity to participate in a hands-on project preparing food for the Meals on Wheels organization.

Meals on Wheels prepare for 200-400 meals each weekday by chopping, peeling, dishing and packaging food, washing, baking and more.

Golfing In Winter Opportunity

It is that time of year again - Holidays and the Rotary Canadian - American Golf Challenge!! The Challenge is scheduled for January 16, 2016 at Gold Canyon Golf Resort's fantastic Dinosaur Mountain course, 6100 S. Kings Ranch Rd., in Gold Canyon. Proceeds from the tournament go to local youth programs and scholarships in the area.

This tournament is like no other. It is the 2nd Annual Canadian/American Two – Person Ryder Cup Format.
