A system failure at multiple levels; club waits impatiently for pictures to go with the words. Second bowls of chili help to manage the mayhem; quiet the crowd. Then at long last, Chairman Alan takes to the podium for the State of the Foundation address.

The Saint Cloud Rotary Club Foundation, Inc. was the engine that drove most of the Club’s community service projects over the last 25 years.  Community Against Pushers, Rotary Park West, Rotary Park East, Habitat for Humanity, and S.T.R.I.V.E. had been the largest until the most recent $22,000,000 Lake George project.  The Foundation served as the conduit for funds, partnerships with other donors, and a tax exempt vehicle for the acceptance of charitable contributions.  The Foundation is among the Club’s ways of supporting the 3rd avenue of service – community service – in perpetuity.  Milford Johnson provided the latest $1,000 contribution to that Trust.

Helpful hint:  If you are going to pay for a significant opportunity or make a significant Happy Bucks contribution, write a check and it will be tax deductible.  Most probably remember to do this at birthday time but rarely at other times.  All Rotarians are urged to make a contribution to the Foundation equivalent to age on the anniversary of birth.
