Barry Brass
Tourism and The Barnhill Center at Historic Simon Theatre

Barry came to Brenham in 2004 when he and Sharon established a business here. His prior, 39 year career in the IT industry began with Doubleday & Company and General Foods Corporation – both in New York. At Tesdata Systems in McLean, Virginia, he was director of corporate and product marketing.  His last corporate role was 22 years as a client relationship executive for Unisys Corporation, managing major accounts for three business units.

Barry earned a B.S in business administration with a minor in marketing from the State University of New York.  He served in the United States Army and is a proud Vietnam veteran.

Barry served 5 years on the board of the Washington County Chamber of Commerce, and volunteered for four years as a Junior Achievement teacher for BISD 4th graders.  He has been a mentor at Mission Brenham and is a frequent volunteer for Main Street Brenham. His annual portrayal of Brenham’s forefather, J.D. Giddings, is a mainstay at the annual Local History Day for Brenham ISD students.

Barry and Sharon recently sold their Brenham business, Kwik Kopy Business Center, allowing Barry to focus on his newest career as an actor, comedian and historical interpreter. He is often on the Unity Theatre stage, and is part of the Vaudeville troupe that has performed at the Barnhill Center at Historic Simon Theatre. He stars in a short historical movie that is shown at the Barnhill Center every Saturday, and he also conducts tours of the facility for the City of Brenham.
