January may be cold, but that does not keep our club from looking ahead to activities later this year. We saw a lot of new members join. We had awesome speakers about the wine industry, cyber security, and a mayor race to heat things up this month.
1/11/2022 Club Meeting
Great speaker today from the FBI! Marcos Arzac gave us some fantastic information on Cyber Security. We learned some of the things to watch out for, what to do when you are compromised as well as best practices!
01/14/2022 Perry's Steak House
Wonderful relationships are made through Rotary! Rick Gatewood challeged Tomball Rotary members to sell at least 50 tickets for Big Show/Corvette raffle. Those that achieved the goal got to have dinner with Rick and wife Cindy at Perry's. Three members achieved this - Malcolm Williams, Dave Morgan and Camille Hamilton.
1/19/2022 Club Meeting
We had a packed meeting today! Loved having a full house!
A Rotarian from Kenya spoke to us about things going on with his work. It was great having Rev. Josam (Joe) Kamau, who is the District Superintendent of Kenya Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church joined us.
We welcomed Amanda Kelley as a new member of the Tomball Rotary Club. Amanda is with the Tomball Farmers Market.
Mayor Gretchen Fagan joined us to give us an update on the city. She also announced that she is running for Mayor again. City Manager David Esquivel also talked about key things going on in the city. Great to hear from city leaders.
01/26/2022- Club Meeting
We had a full meeting today both in the number of people attending and all of the activities. First up was Max Patterson got his Paul Harris plus 8 today.
We indicted a new member Mike Lee and we got a transfer member Natalie Young Thomas! We are growing!
Our speaker gave a great presentation on how he got involved in the Texas wine business. Dean Dickschat owns Deep Roots Vineyards in Plantersville. Deep Roots Vineyards has Texas wine and is a fun music venue. Enjoyed hearing from Dean!
