Seabrook Rotary Scholarships

Did you know…, that Seabrook Rotary is in its fourth year (class of 2018) funding four $2,000.00 scholarships to graduating seniors at CCISD’s Clearview High School? It’s what we do!

 

Clearview is CCISD’s “Alternative” High School for kids from disadvantaged backgrounds. Though everyone in this country is guaranteed equal opportunity, some folks just have higher hills to climb than others. That is certainly true of Clearview students. It is a credit to the character and the determination of many of those youngsters that they are graduating at all. No small credit goes to the Clearview staff and faculty, as well. Their uncompromising commitment to those kids makes all the difference.

 

Our awards are not automatic; they’re earned! We require our scholarship applicants to have a minimum 90% attendance their last two years of high school and a minimum 3.0 GPA. Those are just some of the measures we seek as we look for kids who’ve shown a genuine desire to improve their lots in life, but who might also struggle with financial hurdles or other, uncommon challenges.
