Did you know…, that Seabrook Rotary supports its community by providing cooking teams for several annual events? A little civic pride goes a long way. It’s what we do!

Of course the big one is Breakfast with Santa held each year at the Seabrook Community Center. The City of Seabrook hosts the event. Seabrook Rotary cooks the pancakes and sausages. And the local Girl Scouts double as Santa’s elves to help serve all the hungry youngsters.

“Sentinels of Freedom” is a special event for us, because it allows us an opportunity to support a program that provides direct assistance to wounded vets. In conjunction with their annual fund-raising golf tournament conducted at South Shore Country Club, the Seabrook Rotary Cooking Team joins with others by setting up on one of the fairways to feed the players as they make their way from hole to hole.

The annual Rivers-Lakes-Bays-and Bayous Trash Bash is conducted each year, usually in March. Seabrook Rotary’s Cooking Team is always there set up under the Hwy 146 Bridge at Clear Creek where we feed a couple hundred earnest volunteers.

We cook and serve several hundred hot dogs each year at the city’s annual Easter Egg Hunt and 4th of July events at Meador Park. Kids work up big appetites hunting eggs and marching in the parade…, parents, too, trying to keep up with them.

And throughout the year we’re called upon to help at other events, like the Veterans Day Commemorative held at the new Veterans Memorial on Main Street or the occasional city-sponsored festival.
