Tom Watson to speak today

Tom Watson is the Regional President and Chief Lending Officer of Texas Citizens Bank, N.A.  He is an organizing director of the bank.  Tom has lived in the Pasadena / Clear Lake area for the past 53 years.    He is a seasoned banking executive with 45 years of banking experience.  He has been in management and leadership positions for the past 39 years.  Prior to Texas Citizens Bank, he was Senior Executive Vice President and Regional Manager of First Community Bank.  Mr. Watson joined First Community in January 1999 and continued there until September 2005. First Community was acquired by Wells Fargo in July of 2005.  Mr. Watson held the title of Senior Vice President and Banking Manager with Wells Fargo when he resigned to pursue the opportunity to help organize Texas Citizens Bank.  At First Community, he managed ten of First Community’s eighteen locations, and he supervised the bank’s mortgage lending department and its investment and brokerage department.  He was an advisory director and on the executive committee of First Community Bank.  Prior to his service with First Community, Mr. Watson was President and Chief Executive Officer of Clear Lake National Bank.  He also served as a director at Clear Lake National Bank.  Mr. Watson was President of Texas Commerce Bank-Pasadena and served as a director.  During his 15 year career with Texas Commerce (currently J.P. Morgan Chase Bank), he also served as a Vice President and Senior Client Advisor in the Private Bank department in the Texas Medical Center and downtown Houston locations and as Vice President and Division Manager of the southeast Houston area.  While in high school, Mr. Watson began his banking career working part time at First Pasadena State Bank.  He continued at First Pasadena State while attending San Jacinto College, the University of Houston, and University of Houston at Clear Lake. Mr. Watson completed advanced corporate finance courses offered by the Rutgers Graduate School of Management.  He served in the United States Air Force Reserve where he received an honorable discharge.   Mr. Watson is active in community and civic affairs including serving as the 2009 Chairman of the Pasadena Chamber of Commerce.  He is a director of the San Jacinto College Foundation and Chairman of the Foundation’s Finance Committee.  Mr. Watson is the immediate past Chairman and a current board member of The Rose Diagnostic Clinic (not for profit cancer screening clinic).  He has previously been on the board of the Sam Houston Counsel of the Boy Scouts of America and is a past president and board member of the Pasadena South Rotary.
