Pasadena Rotary was pleased to have two top students and their sponsor as guests of the Club.  Pictured from left are Randall (Ram) Moore, Assistant Principle Tish Eubanks, and Ana Ruiz.  Miss Ruiz is the daughter of Hilda Soniger Rodriguez Fernandez and Carlos Andres Ruiz Salomon.  She ranks 19th in the class with a GPA of 4.9952.  She’s proud member of the National Spanish Honor Society, the National Honor Society, where she is the Secretary, the Student Council Vice President, and is the co- President and 4 year member of the Orchestra.  She is an asset to the community volunteering at nursing homes, playing bingo and visiting with senior citizens.  She also plays in a quartet at nursing homes at Christmas time, makes stockings for the Salvation Army and makes blankets for youngsters at MD Anderson.  Her honors include selected as a region qualifier her Freshman and Sophomore years.  Most outstanding Sophomore in Orchestra, Academic Excellence during her Freshman, Sophomore and Junior years.  She loves spending time with family, travel, cooking, making arts and Crafts, shopping and practicing with her violin.  She moved to the US when she was 9 from Venezuela and visits her family in Venezuela at least twice a year.  She plans to attend Texas A&M University earning a degree in Civil Engineering.
Randall (Ram) Moore is the son of Randy and Sharron Moore.  He holds a GPA of 4.3136 ranking 76th in the class.  He is a member of the PMHS Orchestra and is the Class Co President.  He is the M.A.D. (Making a Difference) vice president  : He participated in food collection for the Houston Food Bank, worked with the Harbor House Birthdays in the Mail.  He was involved in PMHS’s musical as a Sophomore and Junior and never missed a performance.  He was the Freshman Assistant in Orchestra.  Honors and awards include the Orchestra Honors Class of 2012 and 2013, 2nd don Black Belt; He has held the position of 1st chair viola where he has won sweepstakes each year.  He has made region in Orchestra every year.  He has received awards at State during his Freshman, Sophomore and Junior years. His hobbies include a desire to perfect viola performances, learn piano, cook and learn.  He is employed teaching viola at Carter Lomax and Lisle.  He has studied TKD from the age of 5 to 11, not to compete but to learn discipline and compassion.  He has studied Viola from the 5th grade and will always be a private teacher so he can get the most out of his studies.  He’s taken AP Physics, World History and Music Theory and attended music camp at Stephen F. Austin for the past 3 years and was one of 2 freshmen to make Region in Orchestra.  He plans to attend Stephen F. Austin, University of Houston or North Texas State majoring in Music obtaining a Masters in Performance and Conducting with a Minor in Business Management and Marketing.
