Pasadena ISD’s New Superintendent

Dr. Powell assured the Rotary Club that she will continue many of the great programs currently in place. She shared in detail the success of the Connect Program that is currently at Carter Lomax Middle School, Thompson Intermediate, and Dobie HS. It is a program that allows students to work at their own pace. It is quite a change from traditional ways of learning. There has been great feedback from students and teachers alike. During her presentation it was very obvious she has a love for education. She shared that she was raised right here in Pasadena and attended Pasadena High School. Dr. Powell has worked in Pasadena ISD since 1991 and even won Teacher of the Year in 1997. She plans to focus on challenging students to reach their full potential and provide a safe and caring environment.
