A recent presentation at a La Porte Rotary Club meeting led the club and the City of La Porte to align with the international movement to stop human trafficking.

Joe Madison, director of the non-profit organization Love People Not Pixels, spoke about the group's mission to halt sex trafficking by reducing the demand for pornography and the need to purchase commercial sex. That presentation led to Madison working with the City of La Porte as several departments implemented proactive "conditional permits" to create safeguards against sex trafficking in our community.

"La Porte is not just a success story in Harris County--it's a leadership success story," Madison said. "And it all started because Rotary connects people and organizations. I am extremely grateful for the work Rotary does . . .I am so grateful to have connected with the great folks in La Porte city government to implement these processes that will reduce sex trafficking here."
