This King of the Baked Tater,
Is again Rotarian of the month, just nine months later.
 
You ask, “How could he gain such fame so quickly again?”
Hard work would surely be the blame.
 
For our Gala, he was generous contributor from the start,
With adorable puppies and beautiful Astros art.
 
For the District Conference Rotary Foodfest, this I do know,
His tamales qualified Harrisburg as the numero uno, 
It was food with no flaws; of course, his margaritas probably helped the cause.
 
His creative talents again starred; with his art now gracing the District Gov’s yard.
And with the Rotary International Conference coming to town,
He’s not only ready to party, he’s doubling down,
All I can say that Anaida is his most wonderful spouse,
Throwing a party for 150 of his new Rotary friends…at their house.
 
Guess that just how it flows; This Super Rotarian never slows,
And what’s more, here it says,
That this Rotarian of Month once again is Frank Vasquez.

What better way to kick off our New Year,
Than to honor this Rotarian, as our most worthy peer.
Even though she took the position most reluctant-ly,
She certainly showed us how much fun being Prez can really be.
 
And all done in conjunction…. with her other well-known function.
For ma-dam…. is certainly the moving force behind our Scholarship Program.
And I guess we all know who gave us Karla Bozko.
Who’s our big-time Gala and Fundraiser organizer?
 
I should not think it too difficult to recognize her.
For she has served this club for years so enthusiastically,
And performed them all….so fantastically.
 
So, it’s a slam dunk decision, that I note with certain precision,
That we salute our lady with Rotary Super Power,
As our Rotarian of the Month, Judith Bretthauer.

This Rotarian of whom we shall speak,
Will never be counted among the weak,
I’d say she’s on 72 year-long winning streak.
 
And got a future that’s far from bleak.
With 25 years of service to Harrisburg and Rotary,
She will always get my voter-eree,
As our favorite little Chickadee.
 
When working all our club functions, it’s undeniable,
She is our go to old reliable.

Whether it’s helping others in strife;
Or assisting ex-criminals build a new life,
She has willingly given of her time,
Which keeps her in her prime,
Special mention must go to her for she is the best of seekers,
In helping ol’ Rex find great speakers.
 
So you can bet that is why I make no bones
About writing these happy little poems for our Rotarian of the month, Janice Jones.

Well, it does appear,
This Rotarian is being honored twice in one year.
But as you are aware, if you do more than your share,
Harrisburg Rotary will happily give you all you can bear.  
 
He is busily teaching our school kids wrong from right,
With all his efforts for the Early Act First Knight.
And you have no doubt heard,
He’s passing out dictionaries to teach them new words.
 
I may be just a crappy ol’ rhymer, but he has been our only two-timer,
Demonstrating the art of self-sacrifice,
He has stepped up as prez, not once but twice.
 
If you are looking for an example of living Rotary in your heart,
This old fart is a really good place to start,
From that great state that gave us Philly and Altoona,
It also given us our Rotarian of the Month, Ron Acuna.

Of this new Rotarian, I must be most complimentary,
For she has most assuredly drug this club into the 21st Century.
Our website is now updated,
With all of Harrisburg Rotary’s virtues so handsomely stated,
Now no interested person has to search or look,
Cause we’re all over Facebook.
I am certainly no internet whiz, not sure what Instagram really is, 
But for those that care, she has made sure that we’re there.
She has really come to grips with our program on Scholarships,
Interviewing, paperwork, and writing out the checks,
This lady is doing way more than anyone expects,
And I might add, she is the publisher of flyers for our Rotary events,
Always taking photos of guests and presidents,
That find their way to our social media sites,
Seen by the hipsters but not us old internet troglodytes,
She didn’t even squawk about taking Brett‘s fundraising walk,
As far as hard-working Rotarians go, this I do know.
You can find none better than our Rotarian of the Month,
Karla Bozko. Sadly, soon you will be departed, leaving us a little broken-hearted,
But hoping soon that you'll return to see your friends and what you have started.

The choice of this Rotarian was a no brainer,
The facts could not be planer.
Very few of us could even compare,
To this Fund Raiser extraordinaire
 
Yep, he’s a money makin’ machine,
With his spud-based cuisine.
 
He also needs a couple of ovations,
For all his very nice auction donations.
 
He’s our sub at the check-in table,
This guy is handier than a jumper cable.
And he is a Rotarian for real;
Please note he’s brought half his family in on the deal.
 
So what if he has a few chickens at his house,
He leaves the egg gathering to his spouse,
This guy is money in the bank,
And our Rotarian of the month, a Vasquez named Frank.

This Rotarian is one hardworking guy,
And I’m gonna tell you why,
Every meeting, he’s the first arrive, and the last to leave,
Give him a task and watch him overachieve.
Got a Rotary project, and you want to get it done,
You need volunteers, yeah, you know he’s coming on the run,
Haulin’ a book, dictionary, or bicycle,
We all know who’ll be Mr. Reliable.
Live your Rotary in your heart, he’ll be there right from the start.
Introducing new members into the Harrisburg fold,
Initiating them in with all the expectant virtues extolled,
They could hardly do better; than following his example to the letter.
If you want to keep up with him you better be moving,
Eighteen years of Service Above Self and still improving.
Some folks his age spend the time on the beach sipping beer and tannin’,
But not if you’re gonna be like our Hard-Working Rotarian of the Month, Henry Buchanan.
