We had a service project during our regular 1st Tuesday lunch meeting where we helped sort and pack supplies to be distributed on Saturday. We were joined by the officers of the Galena Park High School Interact Club.
$ 19,000 in college scholarships for these very deserving Galena Park High School seniors! Thanks to everyone who bought tickets, worked events, baked or bought cakes.
Eager buyers of over 30 cakes gather round after the live auction to pay for their successful bids. For the first time this year we were able to accept credit cards and over half used their plastic to pay. Over $ 9,000.00 was raised to use for scholarships. Thanks to everyone who baked and bought the beautiful cakes and pies. See you again next year!
You are invited to attend our scholarship fundraiser Cake Auction on April 16, 2019, at Jacinto City Town Center starting at noonish! Everyone is invited to lunch but you have to buy beautifully decorated and delicious cakes for your desserts. All profits will support Galena Park High School student scholarships. This year we will be accepting cash, checks, and credit cards (VISA, MC, AE, Apple Pay) Jacinto City Town Center is located at 1025 Oates Rd, Jacinto City TX 77029. Hope to see you there!
Everything was donated for the Baked Potato Lunch so all proceeds will go to A.P.I.N. a spina bifida clinic in Torreón, Coahuila, Mexico! Thank you to our sponsors: BDI Resources, Don Chile Mexican Restaurant, El Puerto Mexican Restaurant, Officer Ruben Loreto, Mr. Vasquez, Ernesto Paredes, Eric Broussard, and all 300 potatoes were cooked by Harris County Pct 2 Chief Luman and Deputy Pacifico. The Galena Park High School Interact Club did the majority of the work day-of by serving all 300 plates, setting up the community hall, and cleaning up everything afterwards. Thank you to everyone who helped sell tickets and to everyone who ate!

President Jennifer Ledwith likes for us to roll up our sleeves and "work" so this meeting we helped put together over 30 Thanksgiving baskets for seniors in our area. We actually made the boxes and then went down the line loading them up with canned goods. Others bagged rice into baggies while others loaded the full boxes into a truck for distribution. All within the space of an hour! And with the help of two new members and their families!
Lots of moving pieces came together on Tuesday, October 16, 2018, to raise over $10,000.00 for college scholarships for Galena Park High School students. Thanks to all our sponsors and everyone who came out to eat chili and bid on auction items.
