Our Monday 16 March Programme:
On Monday 16 March our speaker will be Tamelynda Lux, CCH, CPH, PCC, CRCi, DipAdEd, Certified Hypnosis Practitioner, End-of-Life Doula, and Author. With over 30 years of experience, Tamelynda Lux has spent most of her career supporting individuals as a life coach.  An Integrative Health Practitioner, Tamelynda has evolved her private practice to include hypnosis and as a Certified Hypnosis Practitioner, she specializes in helping clients overcome or break free from anxiety/stress, weight/food issues, chronic pain, caregiver stress, and manage terminal illness and end-of-life issues, as well as other health/wellness concerns.

Tamelynda’s initiatives of creating, piloting and delivering successful educational programs, have received national attention and delivered as best practice programs in the non-profit community.  She is also a freelance writer, contributing regularly to community magazines and online, and published her first non-fiction book in 2015, available on Amazon.

 

We will be meeting at the RBC Place London in Salon B,B1 on the ground floor.

March is Rotary Water and Sanitation Month  
Clean water is a basic need for human beings. When people, especially children, have access to clean water, they live healthier and more productive lives. However, at least 3,000 children die each day from diseases caused by unsafe water, which is what motivates Rotarians to build wells, install rainwater harvesting systems, and teach community members how to maintain new infrastructure.
 
While very few people die of thirst, millions die from preventable waterborne diseases, providing the impetus for Rotarians to also improve sanitation facilities in undeveloped countries. Rotarians start by providing toilets and latrines that flush into a sewer or safe enclosure and then add education programs to promote hand-washing and other good hygiene habits.
 
The Jack Burghardt Community Service Above Self Award 
This prestigious award may be awarded annually in the spring of the year. The purpose of The Jack Burghardt Community 'Service Above Self’ Award is to recognize a member of the Rotary Club of London who is primarily involved as an active community volunteer in “non-Rotarian” activities, and secondarily as an active member within the Rotary Club of London.

All current active members of the Rotary Club of London, including Board members, are eligible to receive this award with the exception of the following members who are previous recipients: Bill Barnett, Jim Swan, Heather Broadhead, Bruce McGauley, Randy Warden, Felipe S. Gomes, Jan Delaney, John Eberhard, Jim Belton, Bob Earley and Ron Posno.

 
Members of the Club are requested to complete the Nomination Form and forward to the Club Secretary at jimbelton@rogers.com  by Tuesday, 17 March.  The form can be found at our registration desk or on the home page of our website under “Home Page Download Files”. The final decision rests with the Board.

“We’re All Stars” Luncheon
As part of the Sports Celebrity Dinner on Wednesday, April 22nd, earlier in the day at the RBC Place the children & youth with special needs from Thames Valley Children’s Centre will enjoy a pizza luncheon with a number of the sports and spectra celebrities. 10 to 12 Rotarians are needed to help set up, serve the pizza, and clean up from 10:30 to 11:30 approx.  If you are interested in volunteering for the “We’re All Stars” luncheon please email Jim Belton at jimbelton@rogers.com.

District 6330 Activities:
Rotary and Rotaract President District Leadership Exchange
This training program will be held on Friday 3 April @ 4pm to Saturday at 4pm at the Sunbridge Hotel and Conference Centre in Sarnia. The event is open to all presidents and their leadership team such as VP's, Secretary and Treasurer.

Friday @ 4:00 will start with short workshops on the specific role i.e. treasurer workshop. Saturday’s exchange will feature Rotaract and Rotary clubs working together grow clubs membership while improving engagement, Service project exchange with Fundraising, Promoting your clubs to all generations, finish our commitment to end Polio while having your club recognized as a every member every year club!

 
Rotary Leadership Institute seminar, Part I, Part II & Part III
Saturday, 25 April from 8:30AM to 4:00PM at King’s University College, 266 Epworth Ave., London.
 
EAGER TO LEARN MORE ABOUT ROTARY?
 
The Rotary Leadership Institute (RLI) Program’s ‘Rotary Learning and Information’, consists of three parts, I, II and III, to be taken progressively. Each part is a one day seminar, those taking Part II must have completed Part I; to take Part III, Part II must have been completed. The Parts are divided into 6 modules of approximately 55 minutes each. Attendees register for one part only at a low cost of $75.00 which covers light breakfast, breaks, lunch and materials.

Courses are fun, topical and interactive. They are geared towards members and leaders who wish to be knowledgeable about Rotary and be more effective in their businesses and their Rotary Club.  Many members say "one of the most exciting parts of these sessions is the interaction with other participants".
