Toastmaster's Club

Members of Toastmasters and Rotary will enhance their skills, broaden their networks and increase their positive impact in communities through a new collaboration.

The ongoing relationship between the two organizations will begin at the grassroots level with local club members learning and working together. Additionally, Toastmasters will create a set of eight structured communication and leadership development courses for Rotary with a phased rollout that will be available in English in 2020, and in more languages in 2021.

“The strategic alliance with Rotary is exciting and allows both organizations to leverage our unique and similar strengths,” says Deepak Menon, Toastmasters' 2019-20 International President. “We look forward to providing our current and prospective members with ongoing additional offerings that meet their evolving needs.”

Johnny Martineau Aug 23, 2021
A London video & picture show of nature in Komoka, Medway, The Ponds and the Meadowlilly Trail
Our speaker will be Johnny Martineau. For years, he has been shooting still photos of the woods at Komoka Provincial Park and turning them into a collage of seasons as viewed from a single vantage point. He sets the time-lapse vistas - four seasons in five minutes - to music and posts them on YouTube.
His photos became the moving screen projections for critically acclaimed performances of The Magic Flute in Baden Baden, Germany, and Paris, France. In many scenes of the performance, they're not just backdrops to the set, they are the set. The Baden Baden performances featured music from the Berlin Philharmonic under music director Simon Rattle.
Johnny will present a video and picture show of nature in Komoka, Medway, The Ponds and Meadowlilly Trail here in London.

Find more out about running a winery in Ontario
Our speaker will be Louise Engel, co-owner of Featherstone Winery, where she has become a licensed falconer and flies her Harris hawk Amadeus in the vineyard. The presence of a hawk in the vineyard is a natural deterrent to
nuisance birds, and capitalizes on the predator/prey relationship. We might even get to meet Amadeus, and will find more out about running a winery in Ontario.
