Monday January 23rd our speakers will be Suzanne Fratschko Elliott, Executive Director and Amy Mathias, Community Engagement and Events Associate with Childcan. Faced with the news that their child has cancer, families from across western Ontario have turned to this organization for direct support since 1974. Working to raise awareness and funds to provide personalized, responsive, and compassionate programs and services to families facing the childhood cancer journey from diagnosis, through treatment, post-treatment care, or bereavement is Childcan's mission. Suzanne joined Childcan in June this year as Executive Director, with non-profit experience in healthcare and community-oriented sectors aimed at improving health and wellbeing. Her focus on supportive care includes leadership roles at Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada, Women’s Community House (now known as Anova) and Wellspring (London). With over twenty years of marketing experience for both tech companies and not-for-profit, Amy moved to fundraising in 2019 and has since achieved her Certified Fund Raising Executive certification. Having lost her mother to cancer at an early age, Amy is passionate about raising awareness of all forms of cancer and funds for those affected.
