Dr. Grayson Perry, Consul General and Senior Trade & Investment Commissioner, Australian Government

Grayson and his wife Abby, are based in Toronto with the Australian Government, managing a Canada wide team identifying major investment opportunities in Australia for Canadian companies as well as new markets for Australian exporters into the region. He also lead the agency’s Resources, Energy, Circular Economy team for the broader Americas region, with additional responsible for consular operations for the Australian Government in Toronto and Vancouver.

Prior to the current role in Canada he was based in India for seven years (in New Delhi and Chennai), managing investment and trade operations in South India and Sri Lanka as well as the agency’s South Asia Infrastructure and Agribusiness operations.

In the Research area he is involved in City imaging and brand positioning and developing a multidimensional approach to global positioning for cities/regions. Tied to this is extensive experience working with the urban development sector in Australia to create active, engaged and integrated liveable communities.
