Rotarians Answer the Call
Each summer, the McCall Rotary Club answers the call to help those in need of warmth for the winter. Woodstock is an annual "Day of Service" - a day to split 100 cords of wood into dogs for those that cannot afford to buy firewood to heat their homes. The McCall Rotary Club buys a logging truck worth of wood and then helps in cutting it down.

Woodstock occurs the 2nd Saturday of every July from 8 am until 2 pm. On July 17th number of Rotarians showed up at the site just west of the Smoke Jumpers Base near the McCall Airport. Among those splitting, hefting and throwing logs into trucks were Mark Schneider, Travis Leonard and Craig Vroom. This was Mark's second season of helping split logs. Mark stayed all day and was happy to do it. "I just like the feeling of helping those that need a helping hand", said Mark.  Jim Fronk and Don Driscoll, who have served for years, took on the important role of directing traffic and getting all the people to where they needed to be.

And that's what "Service Above Self" is all about! Thank you Mark, Travis, Craig, Jim and Don and to all whom contributed toward the wood purchase!
