Executive Board

President

  • Holds overall responsibility for the operation of the Club
  • Recruits/selects members to hold the various positions in the Club
  • Plans the year before taking office
  • Oversees the Club activities to ensure they are well attended and include the Rotary spirit of fellowship and service
  • Runs the weekly meeting

President Elect

  • Prepares for the coming year as President
  • Supports current president as much as possible
  • Decides what the next year's vision will be in alignment with the Club strategy
  • Aligns goals with the Rotary International and District objectives
  • Determines candidates for all club roles

Secretary

  • Maintains membership records
  • Records attendance at meetings
  • Maintains minutes of club and board meetings
  • Works with incoming secretary to ensure smooth transition

Treasurer

  • Manages funds
  • Collects and submits dues and fees
  • Reports on the state of the cCubs finances
  • Works with the Rotary Club of McCall Foundation
  • Develops a budget

  • Assists President with duties
  • Provides Board with guidance and advice

Committees

GRANTS

Oversees and approves grant applications from local students and local businesses and non-profits.

* About nine $1,500 scholarships are given to area high school students heading off to college each year.

*Grant awards are given to dozens of area businesses and non-profits each year to help fund their respective mission and objectives.

 

MEMBERSHIP

Develops plans for recruiting, retaining, and orienting new members, fostering fellowship, and ensuring member satisfaction.

 

HEARTLAND HIGH SCHOOL

Rotary has maintained a relationship with Heartland High School, offering assistance with an apprenticeship program with area businesses, sponsoring a talent show, participating in lunches with the students, and other activities.
 

ROTARY FOUNDATION

Supports the Foundation's goals through fundraising and promoting its programs.

 

YOUTH EXCHANGE

Oversees programs to engage young people.

  • International Youth Exchange is a multi-faceted program that involves organizing local host families for international exchange students and preparing local students for this overseas opportunity.
  • School support (types of support changes each year: sometimes its assisting at school sporting events, sometimes its mentoring students).

 

SERVICE PROJECTS (some examples are listed below)

  • Summertime beach raking of Rotary Park to maintain in pristine condition
  • Funding for breakfast and nutritious snacks to area elementary schools
  • Funding and distribution of personalized dictionaries to all the 3rd grade students in area schools
  • Shark Pond, an international program that provided two $1,000 awards to entrepreneurs in Africa to help bring ‘stability through prosperity’
  • Assistance with the Woodstock program, providing winter wood supply for those in need
