Just a friendly reminder that there will be no regularly scheduled noon meeting this week as it is a Fifth Thursday. We will be having a family barbeque at Eastman Park under the Rotary Pavilion. Meat for the evening will be catered and provided by B&L Meats and will include chicken and ribs. We have a potluck setup for side dishes and desserts. Feel free to bring whatever you choose and enjoy an evening of relaxed fun. There is no cost to attend so please bring your families and lawn chairs and enjoy the event! |

The program chair for this week is Michael Aland. We will be hosting Mike Gemar, who will representing Special Olympics Idaho, as the guest speaker. The club will be donating to Special Olympics Idaho a check for $1,750.00. This check is from the net proceeds from the annual Buhl Rotary Track Meet. |

The program chair for this week is Tracy Woolman. Tracy will have Todd Eccles as the guest speaker and program. Todd will be discussing concealed weapons and concealed weapons permits. Todd lives in Filer and teaches concealed weapons classes. |

The program chair for this week is Jim Welch. Jim will have Chris Anderson as the guest speaker and program. Chris is from the Herrett Center at the College of Southern Idaho and will be discussing the upcoming Solar Eclipse in August. He will go into detail about the eclipse and the effect that it will have on Southern Idaho. It will be a great program. |

The program chair for this week is Ty Popplewell (myself). I will be discussing and recapping the District Conference that took place two weeks ago in Sun Valley. I will also be discussing the RYE (Rotary Youth Exchange) and RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Award) programs in detail. Finally, I will provide a quick update on Paul Harris Fellows and donating to Rotary International. It will be your one-stop-shop for all things Rotary! |

The program chair for this week is Marie Silver. Marie will have Chris Bell, Customer Service Representative for Idaho Power, as the guest speaker and program. Chris will be providing the group with an update on all happenings at Idaho Power and then answering any questions that the club might have concerning power consumption, power savings, etc. |

The program chair for this week is Vance Spencer. Vance will have Darryl Glanders as the guest speaker and program. Darryl is the Executive Director of Veteran Works, Inc. and will be discussing the Veteran Works program in detail. There are no more senior students for lunch this school year. Last week was the final group of seniors for 2016-2017. |

Brittanie is a teacher and coach at Buhl High School and is also the Athletic Director at Buhl Middle School. She will be discussing Middle School sports and programs. The program for this week is our very own Alfredo Asin. Alfredo is our Rotary inbound exchange student for the 2016-2017 school year. Alfredo is currently living with the Lauda's, but previously lived with the Loza's and the Kaster's as well. He will be updating us on his home country of Spain and also discussing some of his adventures and excitement that he has felt and had in the United States. Cari Kaster is in charge of picking up the senior students for lunch. |

He is the owner of Tech Strategies and will be discussing what his local IT company provides for services to our area. Melanie Foster is in charge of picking up the senior students for lunch. |

The program chair for this week is Ann Murray. Ann will have Devon Rigbey, District Engineer with the Idaho Transportation Department, as the program and guest speaker. Devon will be addressing questions and issues surrounding road and bridge repairs in light of the winter that Southern Idaho just experienced. It should be a very good program. The program chair for this week was Gloria Morse, but she switched with me. The program and guests will be representatives from St. Luke's Magic Valley in Twin Falls. They will be discussing the latest news and happenings at the hospital and also the plans for a new clinic in Buhl. Stan Albee is in charge of picking up the senior students this week. |

The program chair for this week is George Nye. George will have McKay Lundgren as the guest speaker and program. McKay will be discussing the "Just Serve" Program. This program assists in putting groups that engage in service projects together with individuals that desire to offer service to their communities. There are no senior students for lunch this week since it is spring break for the Buhl School District. |

The Spaghetti Feed and Bucket Raffle that was originally scheduled for yesterday evening was cancelled and postponed to Thursday, March 9th due to poor weather conditions in Southern Idaho. We will not have a regularly scheduled noon meeting the day of the Spaghetti Feed. Additional details to follow at next week's regularly scheduled noon meeting.

The program chair for this week is Terry Kramer. Terry will have Calvin Armstead, Twin Falls County Veteran Services Officer, as the guest speaker. Reminder that the annual Spaghetti Feed and Bucket Raffle is scheduled for next Thursday, February 23, from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. at Popplewell Elementary. There will be no regularly scheduled noon meeting that week. Finally, George Nye is in charge of picking up the senior students for lunch.

The program chair for this week is Melanie Foster. Melanie will have Dr. Joshua Stringam from Family Health Services (Buhl Office) as the guest speaker. Dr. Stringam graduated from Duke University and will be discussing a wide variety of health issues and topics and also how he ended up in the Magic Valley. It should be a great program. The program chair for this week is Bret Christensen. Bret will have Dan Winn and the Buhl High School Boys varsity basketball team as the program. The team was originally supposed to be the program for Gary Bonar two weeks ago, but due to poor weather conditions, we had to cancel Rotary for that day. The program chair for this week is Gary Bonar. Gary will have the Boys High School Varsity Basketball team as the program. Their head coach, Dan Winn, former Rotarian and President of the Buhl Club, will be the guest speaker and introduce the boys to the club. This has become a tradition every year and is a great program. Michael Aland is in charge of picking up the senior students for lunch.

The program chair for this week is Kody Bingham. Kody will have the Girls High School Varsity Basketball Team as the guest program and speakers. Kody is the head coach of the girls program and will give an update on the season and have the girls introduce themselves to the club. It should be a great program! The program chair for this week is Patricia Beltran. Patty will have Alan Horner, the Chairman of the Board of Directors, President, and CEO of First Federal Bank as the guest speaker. The program chair for this week is Stan Albee. Stan will have Dr. Balthasar Buhidar as the guest speaker. Dr. Buhidar is a Regional Manager for the State of Idaho Department of Environmental Quality. Dr. Buhidar will be discussing the affects of blue-green algae on the overall health of the areas water resources (rivers and lakes). Terry Kramer is in charge of picking up the senior students for lunch.

Bret will discuss some of his new business ventures and will also discuss his return to the Buhl Rotary Club after a couple of years of absence. We will plan on having a local businesses update, as it has been quite some time since we have heard from the some of the businesses in our area and that are involved in our club. Ryan Bowman is in charge of picking up the senior students for lunch. We will also be discussing the final details of the Octogenarian Dinner, including the call lists and any other final details. The Octogenarian Dinner is now just over two weeks away!

Brian will discuss and answer any weather related questions that you might have, along with discussing the annual Festival of Giving. This is a great opportunity to get a "refresher" course on the Foundation, and for new members, to ask as many questions as possible about what the Foundation does for Rotary. It should be a very educational program. There are no students for lunch this week since it is Homecoming at Buhl High!

The program for this week will be the special recognition of Bill Nungester. Bill has been a member of the Buhl Rotary Club for 56 years and Thursday he would like to say a few words and make a special presentation. Treats will also be available for this special occasion. Please plan to attend and congratulate Bill on his many years of service!

The program chair for this week is myself. My program will be my grandfather, Duane Ramseyer. He is a local author and historian of the area North of Filer, better referred to as "Sucker Flats." Barbara Bremers is in charge of picking up the senior students.

George will have representatives from the Distinguished Young Woman's Program as the presenters, discussing the state program this year (set to take place in Idaho Falls). Presenters will include Karmelle Nye, Program Director, and Maci Diamond, the 2015-2016 Winner.

Lunch for the seniors at Buhl High School will begin next Thursday, September 8th. I will be in charge of picking up the students this first week. Moving forward, the list for the students will be available by email (which I will send out today), on ClubRunner under the speakers and stories tab, and also available in the new club directory.
