Leonora Thiede, our wonderful Rotary Youth Exchange student for the past year, spoke at our June 22nd meeting. She filled us in on her background in Germany, her impressions of the United States, and her mixed feelings about leaving Minnesota behind. Above all, she is grateful to have had this wonderful experience in Minnesota, and especially thankful to have had such wonderful host family experiences. Leo has 5 siblings ranging in age from 2-23, and her Mom is a teacher.  Leo has had wonderful experiences during the past year, including travel in Minnesota and around the country, learning in a different type of educational system, experiencing new sports and activities, trying new foods, attending school dances and activities (non existent in her school), and just generally making new friends and getting the hang of being a teenager in Minnesota. She will be missed, and she will miss us. Steve Hance spoke for himself, Leo's hosts, and the whole club when he said "We all love Leo, she's a treasure. We will miss her."
