Speaker: Robert Foster, Lake Minnetonka Sailing School

A Minnetonka native, Robert Foster grew up sailing on Lake Minnetonka and enjoys whenever he can get out on the water. He became passionate about sailing as a scholarship recipient in the Summer Camp programs at the Lake Minnetonka Sailing School. While at the University of St. Thomas he founded and lead the formation of a collegiate sailing team which went on to achieve national rankings. He has spent nearly a decade running youth sailing programs, several years coaching high school sailing, and served as Waterfront Director at the Wayzata Community Sailing Center (one of the largest community sailing centers in the Midwest). An advocate for youth sailing, Robert volunteers when he can and operates the Daniel C Shinozaki Memorial Fund which provides scholarships and camps aimed at getting at-risk youth out on the water.
