Tom Vettel and others met with the Wayzata City Council to begin the coordination of an art piece to be donated to the city and located at the center of the new round-about being built on the east end of Lake Street.  The Plymouth Rotary Club and Orono Rotary Club are partners in this effort.

 

Club members have donated over $1,000 to ShelterBox, a Rotary-originated disaster relief program.  This donation will be matched by the Latika & Rajiv Jain Charitable Foundaiton Matching Gift Campaign.  The result is providing two ShelterBoxes to those in need, in Nepal or other disaster stricken areas.

 

Sixteen students from Wayzata High School have been selected to receive $1,000 scholarships.  We will be hearing more about them at our May 27th meeting.  The scholarships are run through our Wayzata Memorial Education Foundation and are funded by both earnings on permanently endowed funds and by annual contributions from our club.
