District Governor Mark Hegstrom and Assistant District Governor spoke at last week's meeting, providing the vision for the 2016-17 District 5950 Rotary Year. DG Hegstrom declared Wayzata Rotary "a great one", and "electric", vibrant with energy, new members, and activities that provide real service to the Wayzata community. Goals for the year include:

• Each club achieving $2650 donated to Polio Plus so we can finish the job of eradicating polio worldwide. The goal is within grasp (only 24 cases last year) and needs to be finished.
• Increase donations to The Rotary Foundation, with every member contributing and a goal of two additional Paul Harris Society members per club.
• Share our vibrancy by "Being Great on Purpose". This means capturing the vibrancy in photos and communicating to our communities and members via publications, word of mouth, website, bulletin, and social media.
