Congratulations to Rotary International Peace Fellowship Winner Melissa Diamond!

We celebrated Melissa Diamond's achievement at last week's meeting with cake and an impromptu presentation by Melissa and mentor Greg Rye. Melissa graduated in 2011 from Wayzata High School and was the recipient of  a scholarship from our Wayzata Rotary Memorial Education Foundation. During college at the University of Richmond she created "A Global Voice for Autism", an organization providing support and education to families around the world of children on the autism spectrum. Melissa's efforts focussed particularly on the underserved in the middle east, including Syrian refugees. Melissa has just been awarded a coveted Rotary Peace Fellowship to attend the University of Bradford in the U.K., where she will continue to study middle east conflict and security. Way to go Melissa!
