This past week's meeting featured Peg Wettli speaking about creativity.  Peg is the founder, artistic director, and chief playwright of CLIMB Theater. CLIMB Theatre’s mission is to create and perform plays, classes, and other creative works that inspire and propel people–especially young people–toward actions that benefit themselves, each other, and the community. Peg spoke about harnessing our own personal creativity and shared her own personal guidelines:

Be yourself and do your own thing

Don't worry if it's the "right" solution, just start and you'll figure it out

You won't be able to do it if you aren't passionate about it, so be overcome by your passions

Commit unwaveringly and persist in the face of obstacles

You need people to believe in you, to stand by you and your ideas. Cultivate them.

Tap into things outside yourself for inspiration

Tap into the universe and let your mind wander

Burble on your problems

Practice divergent thinking then convergent thinking to find the best solution

The aha moment is often more instinct than rational

Trust your instinct and aha moments and find a way to communicate them

Learn to be a salesperson and always be prepared to sell your ideas

Do something with your ideas. The best ideas are worthless if they never translate to action.

Stop all those pleasant distractions and JUST DO IT
