Bee pollination of flowers, fruits, and vegetables are important for our economy and for local ecology. Becky Masterson is PhD at the University of Minnesota's Bee Department and head of the Bee Squad. Bee Squad helps beekeepers and the community in the Twin Cities area foster healthy bee populations and pollinator landscapes through education and hands-on mentorship, and are the people you would contact if you wanted to start a beehive or had problems with an existing hive. Topics she may discuss include colony collapse, native bees, the Bee Squad and the new bee study building which just opened at the St. Paul campus.
