Member Spotlight: Steve Hance

Hosting for the second week in a row, Steve Hance provided a bit more of his background this week. Steve joined the Wayzata Rotary Club in 2007. Then-President Andy Fazendin asked Steve to be treasurer, presumably for a finite period, but eight years later Steve still finds himself in this role, as well as his leadership of Youth Exchange. Before joining the Wayzata club, Steve was a Rotarian in St. Paul and Bloomington, where he became familiar with Rotary Group Study Exchanges, a concept he hopes to introduce to us. Group Study Exchanges involve a one month immersion abroad in a vocational field, while staying with host families. Steve's own foreign immersion has included living and working in Japan, where he became interested in the role of Japan in WWII as well as Japanese views of America during the war. His choice of Al Yamamoto as speaker today was a natural outcome of this interest. Thank you, Steve.
