Retired Park Nicollett doctor, Jeffrey Mandel, shared pictures and stories of his cross country bicycle ride raising money for good causes. He is currently training to do this ride again, and this time he will be raising money for the Park Nicollet Foundation "Growing Through Grief" program. The program provides in school grief support to elementary, middle, and high-school aged students who have experienced a death within their family. Dr. Mandel shared that we are all touched by grief and this program costs $500,000 per year to run and supports 6 full-time grief counselors. 73 school in 13 school districts are supported with 71 weekly grief groups. Currently the program supports 520 students weekly!Dr. Mandel shared the training involved for this ride and the logistical support with equipment and travel.
