Wayzata Rotary Club is planning a major international service project to provide dental equipment to the clinic in a remote mountain village of Dominican Republic that Rotarian Dr. Arne Kolbjornsen has helped establish.  The equipment will allow the clinic to operate continuously and serve the needs of villagers from miles around.  Hopefully, instead of just pulling teeth for a week each year, Dr. K will be able to see more patients for restorative and preventive care.

 

Our friends in neighboring clubs have expressed an interest in having their clubs contribute - including Jill Kohler from Plymouth, Michelle Lureen of Excelsior AM, Sharon Bloodworth of Minneapolis Club #9 and other Area 12 clubs.  Chris Pierson, the chair of International Service Committee for our club, is working on a matching grant application to District and to The Rotary Foundation.  It is expected that our project could reach $60,000.
