Minnesota Reading Corps and Minnesota Math Corps mobilize the people power of AmeriCorps to provide evidence-based literacy and math interventions and data-based assessments to students from age three to grade eight in 700 schools across the state. Both programs demonstrate how service and science can accelerate improvement in students. The presentation will discuss the need for Reading Corps and Math Corps, how the programs work, their impact across the state and in Wayzata schools, as well as how Rotary members can support the mission.

Sara Nobbs has been a Program Manager with Minnesota Reading Corps and Minnesota Math Corps since 2014. She supports Wayzata and the surrounding school districts in training and managing tutors.

Jeannie Makowski has been a Lead Recruiter with Minnesota Reading Corps and Minnesota Math Corps since April 2016. She identifies, screens, and places qualified tutors in the Wayzata area and other western suburbs.
