Journal Entry by Liz Bullis —

I'm so very happy to report that Justin has completed his radiation and first round of chemo treatment without any major issues! He continued to experience increasing fatigue and some nausea throughout the 6 week treatment but nothing that couldn't be helped with slowing down and some rest. His last radiation was on Wednesday, December 18th and we now get to enjoy a blissful one month break from all things medical- no chemo, no radiation, no appointments! His next MRI and a shorter, stronger round of chemo are set to happen in mid-to-late January. He can expect to continue to experience radiation side effects for another 2-4 weeks but we are so happy to get a few weeks off over the holidays. He can continue to recover at home and spend time with family without the intrusion of daily hospital visits.

Justin has been able to go to the office occasionally and is regularly working from home when he's up to it. At the advice of his neurosurgeon, we did a "test flight" to Chicago for one night to see how he could tolerate air travel. Thankfully, he felt normal taking off and landing and we were able to enjoy 24+ hours of in Chicago, just the two of us, as an escape from our daily stressors. Some wonderful women in my life secretly banded together and surprised us with a nice dinner out and a further treat of in-room massages as the icing on our trip. Now we are confident in booking longer/further trips with the girls next year! Fingers crossed we can make some Disney magic happen.

Now we get to look forward to Christmas holidays and making them as "normal" as possible. Much love and gratitude to our huge network of support, we can't do this without you all!!
