Camp Enterprise
Wayzata Rotary Club recently sponsored two students to attend Camp Enterprise. This program is run by area Rotary Clubs and is held at YMCA Camp Ihduhapi in Loretto. The focus of the camp is on business management and entrepreneurship. Here is the feedback we received from leaders about the students that we sponsored:
"Ariana Van Dyck from Orono High School was one of the students on my team. She was elected to be the General Counsel by the members of her team. That election followed several hours of team building exercises. Ariana was a great contributor.
The case study contemplated the students being the founders of a development stage company seeking $5 million of venture capital funding to launch their business of bringing to market a digital personal trainer.

"Nick [Wiens of Orono High School] did a fantastic job and I trust got much from the experience.
He was selected to be the Chief Financial Officer for the team. I have served as a mentor for about 15 years now at Camp E and have written the case studies for the last five years. The toughest part for many of the students is to understand the financial statements contained in the cases.
Nick more than understood them, he caught a mistake I had made. As a result, I was able to call a meeting of the other 14 CFOs and point out the error so they would not be confused."
