Jan Dunlap is a Minnesota author, whose works include the Bob White Birder Murder Mystery series and her memoir "Saved by Gracie: How a Rough and Tumble Shelter Dog Dragged Me Back to Health, Happiness, and God." It’s the story of how her daughter's adopted rescue dog helped her overcome an anxiety disorder and return her to health (even though her fear of dogs was one of her biggest anxieties to begin with). In addition to writing, Jan's recent undertakings include Minnesota Master Naturalist training and the recent lauch of her #GetOutsideHappy! Initiative. Jan provided us a brief review of some of the amazing and scientifically validated benefits of outdoor activity, and offered some quick and easy ways we all can get more engaged with nature. Her goal is to recruit everyone to join her in encouraging people to get back outside and PLAY their way to better health and renewed happiness.
