Thank you to Fred Meyer for hosting and bringing us this interesting program. Mr. Dunwoody provided a great overview of Dunwoody Institute, including the role of founders and patrons William and Kate Dunwoody in the Twin Cities at the turn of the century. Dunwoody is a 1100 student, 105 year-old private non-profit endowed technical college that offers two and four year degrees. It has been successful for more than a century because it provides a strong education and enjoys excellent industry partnerships and the support of Twin Cities philanthropy, with alumni who give back to the school as they play important roles in building the Twin Cities. In addition to 40 degree programs, it's strategic projects include a Women in Technical Careers program, a Youth Career Awareness program, and regional recruiting programs to mend MN brain drain. Upcoming priorities for Dunwoody include adding a 4 year Engineering degree program over the next several year to meet a shortage in Minnesota engineering programs. To support their growing 4 year degree programs, Dunwoody has embarked on a $50M capital campaign to provide housing for the additional residential students, improve the infrastructure of the campus, and create a strong Campus Life program.  Thank you to Rich Wagner for an engaging and informative talk!
