 | Coach McKenzie, along with three of his students (Freshawn, Tauries, and Enwar), joined us for a virtual meeting to talk about positive role modeling and motivation. The students shared what basketball has meant to them and how the program that Coach McKenzie immerses them in using positive affirmations, learning how to be responsible for your own choices to become better men and players, and how to sacrifice and when to fight for success. Coach McKenzie has a creed that all of his students and he live by...it starts with "This is the beginning of a new day. Don't take any day lightly as they are all a gift." All students learned that basketball is something they DO, it is not who they ARE. Coach McKenzie ended his meeting with a call to gratitude. We can take advantage of this time of sheltering to grow and expand. We can come out of this pandemic better people. Exercise, be positive, take care of yourself, and become your best self. This time is a gift. | |
